Select a REALTOR® that you trust. You'll be working with this person for a while so you need to make sure you can communicate freely with them about all aspects of the selling process and you want to be sure that they understand you and your needs.
Get your house ready to sell. Make sure it is clean and tidy. Evaluate renovations and repairs for costs and benefits. Don't try to fix everything. Your buyer may be waiting!
List your home. Your REALTOR® will guide you through the paperwork and explain the process.
Once your home is listed there will be interest in it. Showings are coordinated through the brokerage. Buyers will always be accompanied by a licensed REALTOR®.
If the house is set at the right price and it shows well a buyer will make an offer to purchase. Through negotiations an agreement can usually be found and the deal accepted.
The deal will likely include purchase conditions which need to be satisfied within a particular time-frame before a firm deal is reached. Your REALTOR® will update and support you through this conditional agreement period. Once all purchase conditions are satisfied, the paperwork is submitted to the lawyers who will transfer title of the property to the buyer on the closing date.
